Antalya Airport to Alanya is about 125-135 kilometres, roughly a 1.5- to 2-hour drive along the D400 coastal road by private car. A second, much closer option is Gazipaşa-Alanya Airport, just 45 kilometres from the town.
This guide compares the two airports by distance, transfer options (private transfer, shuttle, bus), journey time and price. Travel Alanya runs door-to-door VIP transfers from both airports; the price is per vehicle, your flight is tracked by its flight number, and there is no prepayment.
How far is Alanya from Antalya Airport?
Antalya Airport (AYT) is about 125-135 kilometres from Alanya; between the two town centres the distance is 135 kilometres. The route runs entirely along the D400 coastal highway, passing through Side and Manavgat.
Much closer is Gazipaşa-Alanya Airport (GZP), just 45 kilometres from the town centre. Opened in 2010, it is smaller and usually handles seasonal, limited flights, while Antalya Airport, the region's main hub, has far busier air traffic.
In short, which airport you land at directly affects your journey time and cost. The table below compares the two by distance, time and starting transfer price.
| Antalya (AYT) | Gazipaşa (GZP) | |
|---|---|---|
| Distance to Alanya | ~125-135 km | ~45 km |
| Private transfer time | 1.5-2 hours | 45-60 min |
| VIP Vito (per vehicle, one way) | from 69 EUR | from 50 EUR |
| Flight traffic | Main hub, busy | Small, seasonal |
How do you get from Antalya Airport to Alanya?
There are three main ways to get from Antalya Airport to Alanya: a private transfer, a shuttle (shared minibus) and the bus. The most comfortable is a private VIP transfer that meets you at the terminal and drops you at your hotel door, with no changes, waiting or lugging suitcases.
Shuttles can be cheaper, but the journey takes longer because the same vehicle drops other passengers at their hotels too. The bus is the most economical option, but you first transfer from the airport to Antalya's bus station, then on to Alanya, and make your own way to the hotel on arrival.
For families with young children, late-night arrivals and groups, a door-to-door private transfer is usually both the fastest and the least tiring choice.
How long does the journey from Antalya Airport to Alanya take?
The journey from Antalya Airport to Alanya takes about 1.5 to 2 hours by private car, and 2 to 2.5 hours by bus or shared transfer. The difference comes from transfers and the extra stops along the way.
From Gazipaşa-Alanya Airport it is much shorter: around 45 to 60 minutes by private car. So if you can find a flight straight into Gazipaşa, you cut both the drive and the transfer cost.
Times vary with traffic and where your hotel sits within Alanya; the coastal road can be busy in summer. Tell us your hotel when you book and we will give you the most accurate arrival time.
How much is a transfer from Antalya Airport to Alanya?
At Travel Alanya the VIP transfer price is per vehicle, not per person, and one way. A private VIP Vito (1-6 people) to Alanya starts from 69 EUR from Antalya Airport and from 50 EUR from Gazipaşa Airport. Being per vehicle, it often works out better than a per-person shuttle for larger families.
For groups of 7 to 13, a Sprinter is used and the price is 1.8 times the table value. Round-trip bookings get 5% off the total, and a baby seat is +5 EUR on request. For groups larger than 13 we send a custom quote on WhatsApp.
The exact fare depends on your hotel's zone and the number of passengers; you can see a live quote on the calculator at travelalanya.com/transfer. There is no prepayment. You pay during the transfer.
Which airport should you fly into: Antalya or Gazipaşa?
On distance alone, Gazipaşa-Alanya Airport wins easily: 45 km and 45-60 minutes to Alanya. But Gazipaşa is small and may not have direct flights from every city, so the choice of flights is limited.
Antalya Airport is the main hub with connections to far more countries and cities, tickets are easy to find and often cheaper; in return you have 125-135 km and a 1.5- to 2-hour drive to Alanya.
A practical rule: if you can find a convenient, reasonably priced flight into Gazipaşa, take it and spend less time on the road. If not, flying into Antalya and continuing to Alanya by private transfer is the most common solution.
